Engelberg / Schlänggen (Extrem)

Perhaps, the most favorite sport climbing crag in Central Switzerland, Schlanggen leaves you wanting for nothing. With a casual approach, a flat comfortable and child friendly area at the base of the routes, all supplemented by cutting edge pumpy routes, what’s not to like? The rock is always high quality, which explains the high number of routes available. North facing, the wall can be a drawback for those seeking a sun tan, but therefore even in the summer the rock is super grippy! A magnet for visitors in the summer months, above the “Upper Schlanggen” section of the wall possesses some excellent upper end of the scale offerings. The gray rock is solid, water worn, and awesome! Must do routes like “Lethargie” or “Peschmerga” are very popular. Expect the upper section waiting lines for the routes also to be much shorter than below!
