Dolphin Bay

Kalymnos, GR

Dolphin Bay is a small crag by the sea, with gentle white marble rock on a headland near Kasteli. Seaside crag in a pretty bay with a Calanques-like ambience and white, occasionally soapy, rock. __Busy__ 1/3 __Climbing__ Vertical wall climbing on white, crystalline, soft (for Kalymnos) rock. Some unexpectedly huge holds appear as the angle steepens. __Conditions__ Hot. Most routes, especially those near the water, can feel soapy. Best for calm winter days or cold, cloudy days in spring and fall. Not good when it is windy or seawaters are rough. __Shade (Exposure: S)__ Only early in the morning, until about 10:00. __Kids__ No. Both the approach and the terrain below the cliffs are steep and unsuitable for kids.
