Wildhuser Schafberg (Extrem)

Ostschweiz,

Without a doubt, the hardcore classic on Wildhuser Schafberg is 1985’s “Kein Wasser, Kein Mond“. Even today this is considered one of Switzerland’s greatest alpine test pieces. Attempts far outnumber ascents and it makes even a hardman humble. This one has thwarted many a hardbody since the route demands flawless technique and precise footwork. Much easier and located just left, yet very much recommended, is “Luftschloss“. On the front buttress in 2011 and 2012, Richard Burge cleaned, drilled, and equipped numerous new lines and retrofitted others. Two sectors were created with a sport climbing crag-like character. “Frospfeiler“ sees a lot of action, and rightly so: since the 2011 retrofitting, the route is well protected with bolts.
