Meteora-Ypsilotera Rock

Thessaly, GR

Another cliff belonging to the west group of Meteora towers, located opposite Devil’s Tower and Metamorphosis monastery in an idyllic setting far from the road. The name means ‘highest’, and indeed this tower looms higher than the others around it with views to match. There are even ruins of an abandoned monastery on the top near the summit register. Rack: Take many slings for threading around cobblestones; all three routes feature several large stones which protrude horizontally.
