Bric Scimarco

Liguria, IT

Scimarco is a great slab of solid rock, clearly visible from the Valle Aquila. It’s one of the jewels of the area and it never fails to meet the expectations for a high-quality climbing experience. The first ascents were ground up first and a few attempts at free climbing were made in the 80s with the creation of Ghenaelle and Pazzia Controllata by the talented climber from Turin, Marco Bernardi. Scimarco started becoming really popular in the 90s thanks to the efforts of the ALA S. Remo climbing group and especially one of its members Marco Pukli, who was the first to bolt a crag “French style” in this area. With its incredible rock and vertical walls with pockets and holes, this area has some fantastic routes like Fessurina, a technical route, Mitica, one of the most beautiful hole sequences in the Finale area, or the 6c grade of Dita da cani, where you really get to know a 6c. The routes on the Pilastro del Re, on the right of the main section, are beautiful too.
