Bastionata di Boragni

Liguria, IT

Boragni is the perfect image of climbing in Finale. This big crag, which has more than 10 sections, is very popular among local and visiting climbers, it’s already visible from the highway and is composed of slabs and pillars made of excellent rock. Even so there’s still a lot of work to do on this wall, that was first explored in the 70s and that became more popular in the 80s thanks to the work of the great local bolters Marco Zambarino and his brother Luciano, who created many of the many classic routes. The “work in progress” situation on many crags in the Finale Ligure area is a plus of these climbing sites that don’t get completely explored in a season, but still have space for bolters to create new routes as long as they are created in a logical and sensible way for both rock and climbers.
