Telli (Extrem)

Already back in the 1980s, numerous 8 (French grading) routes were equipped and climbed in the Telli. An example of this is Jurg von Kanel’s “Maybe” from 1984. Typical for Jurg, this route is short and bouldery. Even today, it remains the kind of test piece where the number of repeat ascents can be counted on only one hand. Telli rock often has tufas though painfully tiny crimps and pockets are the norm. Jugs are rare. For most of the routes here, the business is all about conquering a few cruxy meters. Take care when near the train tracks. Look and listen before crossing!
