Jaffa Flake

Agadir, MA

Mid-grade cracks are a very rare thing on Tafraout granite, and for climbers operating around the VS level a visit to Jaffa Flake is highly recommended. As well as Jaffa Flake itself, the crag is home to the magnificent off-width of The Very Big and the Very Small, which is also one of the best cracks of its grade in the area. The crag is south-facing and lies on the southeast slopes of the Fortress, at the entrance to High Sierra Valley. Although it is a bit of a sun trap, the belay for The Very Big and the Very Small stays in the shade all day, so is a very pleasant spot from which to watch the antics of the leader.
