Elephant Rock

This is the huge granite dome on the left-hand side of the road when driving south to Aguerd Oudad, reached in a matter of minutes from Tafraout. Although it has never achieved the popularity of many of Tafraout’s granite crags, there are a handful of high quality lines here, with a tremendous variety of climbing from the amenable shady walls of the North Side, to the utterly desperate routes of the South Buttress. There is climbing on all four sides of the rock, so it should be possible to find something here to suit most conditions.
