Schartenflue (plaisir)

Jura - Switzerland,

The «Schartenflue» is a well known and frequently visited viewpoint. The «Gempen» with it’s compact rock, its many holes and countless threads is one of the finest climbs the Jura has to offer. The «Sandührliwand» (hour- glass-wall) was equipped by Michel Glesser with a unique glue-in bolt system (GRIWL) which he developed himself. The eastern group offers excellent routes for climbing instruction courses and for beginners. Unfortunately on some routes the protection is placed too far apart which is a disadvantage for chil- dren who are leading. During sunny winter days the «Sandührliwand» stays mostly warm enough for climbing and then in the evening, when a scarlet red sun sets on the horizon, every photographers heart’s starts pounding. FYI: Only use the parking lot 300 m below the restaurant.
