Mittagfluh (plaisir)

Wear your helmet! Don’t blindly trust every hold on the south face of the Mittagfluh. Not all are bomber. This route sees a lot of traffic. Please avoid rappelling down onto parties below. The descent is steep, but thanks to an obvious trail, you can’t go wrong. For the short rappel sections, all you need is a 50 m rope. Chinook winds coming from the south can whistle around the corner making communication difficult. Now the good news: Short, casual approaches to climber friendly rock on routes of moderate difficulty. The Mittagfluh is one of the most popular and high traffic climbs in the Grimsel. Some snow remains in the spring and into summer. Good boots are a must!
