Eulengrat (plaisir)

Jura - Switzerland,

With a focused eye and a little imagination you can see how this ridgeline came to be known as “Eulenridge” (Owl Ridge). The climb along the ridge is long (2-3 hours) and on the summit you will be eager to change boots for the descent. Thanks to the efforts of Alfons Kurth, who for years replaced the old fixed protection on the “Eulengrat”; the route has become a popular Jura classic. Many SAC Sections include this climb into their yearly Activity Program. Expect crowds lining up at the base. The several variations of the climb lets you assess your level of conditioning early in the year.
