Around the germination cell of the Opferstock this sector developed into a somewhat widespread, but nevertheless interesting collection of problems. The interesting features are the large variety of boulder styles and difficulties in the sector, as well as the comparatively large number of overhanging problems. In relative terms this might well be the sector with the most steep problems in the valley. The Opferstock, the Hänger, the Träne and the Placa del toros offer excellent steep climbs with quite different styles. Generally, the climbing styles range from roofs to slabs, from child friendly playground-like blocks to nerve-wrecking top-outs, so everybody should find his/her delicious problems to savour. Another attractive feature is the comparatively short access, at least for blocks 12-18. However, if you are looking for sunny spots, this is definitively not the place to go. With the exception of block 10 all blocks are situated in dense forest, meaning that it is not the most ideal area for bouldering sessions in winter. But on warmer days it is certainly a good choice. Maybe a final note: There are no paths to the blocks, which means to get to the blocks not situated next to the Harzchaussee, you have to trudge your way through the forest, which can be somewhat arduous. However, the access is certainly not that arduous to keep you from going there!
