The Beach
Kalymnos, GR
The Beach is the only crag on Kalymnos that actually sits above a beach. The north coast location evokes an edge-of-the-world feeling and the sector is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and family picnics after climbing. The only drawback is that a lot of trash is washed ashore by the waves in wintertime.
A crag just above a small beach for combining climbing and swimming. Sharp grey slabs on left, red overhangs on right.
__Busy__ 1/3
__Climbing__
On the left, pleasant if sharp (or too sharp) grey slabs. On the right, athletic climbing on better, gently overhanging red, white, and orange rock.
__Conditions__
Cool. Good for climbing on breezy summer afternoons.
__Shade (Exposure: NE, N)__
_Far Left and Main_
after 13:00.
_Far Right:_

__Kids__
Very good, but bring hats. The path is in the sun.
The routes at far right (24–28) are approximately 40m to the right of route krabbe, behind a huge boulder. This small north-facing orange cliff offers some beautiful flowstone and technical dynamic climbing on tufa flakes, cracks, and other unusual features. There’s only a handful of routes at this writing, but they are all excellent. Bonus: the cliff
stays in the shade all day.
