Schleierwasserfall

Kärnten, AT

The Maltatal in Osttirol is known worldwide for its extreme boulder problems, and top boulderers like Kilian Fischhuber or Daniel Woods regularly visit the area. Bouldering in the Maltatal started when two friends from school, Christian Preiml and Gerhard Schaar, discovered bouldering during a school exchange in California. On return they instantly went to work on the boulders of their home area. Known for its hard problems, the Maltatal also hosts plenty of easier boulders, so that climbers of average ability can have lots of fun here. Sensible and respectful behaviour is necessary in order to preserve the Maltatal as a first class boulder destination for the future.
