Siggenthalerflue (plaisir)

Jura - Switzerland,

For many years now climbing out at the top of the “Siggenthaler Flue” has brought heavy damage to the vegetation. A climbing ban was considered. Thanks to the co-operation between the local authorities and the SAC Sections of Baden and Brugg a solution was found. In December 1995 instructors at a mountaineering course of the Swiss Army’s 5th Field Division equipped the entire climbing area with new protection and belay chains. The rock is like almost made for climbers as it is horizontally layered and very climber friendly.
