Falkenflue (plaisir)

The mother of all cliffs has more than 200 routes gracing its flanks making it not only the biggest, but also the most popular climbing area in the Basel Jura. The rich area climbing tradition present a huge number of route choices (6b and up) for climbers in the upper grades. But also in the moderate grades, you can find some real gems. Due to their popularity and high traffic, however, expect them to be well worn and greasy. The Sectors south of the steps are in the shade until 1430, enabling pleasant climbing. But, the routes remain damp or wet for long periods after rain (especially in the Fall). The other Sectors see the sun before noon. Even though all the routes have been retro- fitted, expect spaced bolting.
