Bodenstein

Harz, DE

The Hainberg near Bodenstein is a popular climbing destination ever since, despite the rather few and smnall crags.Therefor it is not surprising that people recognized quite early that the many small boulders in the wood are perfect for training. In other words: bouldering. Meanwhile a respectable collection of boulder problems exist, from easy going to bone hard. The sandstone, however, is not always that hard, so it is wise to wait a decent time after extensive rainy periods. Also, consider that most blocks dry slowly due to the dense forest. Recently climbing in the part belonging to the LK Wolfenbüttel (marked with hatches in the map) was unfortunately banned. Please consider this when visiting the area.
