Kokkinovrachos

__Kokkinóvrachos__ provides shelter to the town of Leonidio and to the rural valley, but it is a huge solar reflector of sorts. Perhaps the most distinguishing characteristic of this massive face are its multi-pitches, the majority of which are on the right-hand section of the cliff. Most are fully bolted, they have a “big wall” feeling (including the occasional loose rock), and they are definitely worthwhile. __Return__ Most routes are fully bolted and equipped for abseiling. Return by abseil is not recommended, though. Abseil down only if you have to retreat /abandon a route. See return options on p. 189. __Gear__ Trad gear is needed when a route is marked as “trad” or “mixed” (meaning there are only a few bolts, mostly at anchors). Helmets are mandatory.
