Knife edge ridges, grippy cracks, and smooth slabs: You’ve arrived in the Salbit! Three ridge routes terminate at the summit needle. At the top of many a climbers’ wish list is the well known infamous West Ridge. When in 1970 the entire ridge was climbed in a day, no one could have imagined that the day would come when someone would climb it in an hour and 35 minutes! Dani Arnold accomplished this in 2010. The towers encountered on the West Ridge offer fantastic dihedrals and crack climbing. “Hammerbruch” and “Harzbaragge” are just two routes that diehard and spoiled granite fans should not miss.
