Monastery

Monastery is located in a sheltered area formed by an open stream bed in the hillside south of Kantouni Beach, beneath the Kalymnos airport. This part of the island is also home to sectors Austrians (app only) and Saint Photis. It is never a busy area, but don’t let that stop you from visiting Monastery: the grey walls are solid, and the routes are mostly well-bolted. Besides, is being alone really so bad? Good grey wall climbing at a sheltered crag above the sea near Kantouni Beach, and a beautiful approach path. __Busy__ 1/3 __Climbing__ On a high-quality grey wall and mostly well-bolted routes. Slabby on the left, more vertical on the right. __Conditions__ Hot and sunny. Good for climbing in winter or on cloudy days. Exposed to rainfall, though. __Shade (Exposure: S)__ Until 12:00. Get an early start. __Kids__ The path is long and parts of it go high above the sea. Otherwise, some suitable terrain is at the far right.
