Kreuz des deutschen Ostens
Harz, DE
The Kreuz des deutschen Ostens ("Cross of the German East") is a memorial for the dislocated people at the end of World War 2, and a popular hiking destination. It offers splendid views and, most interesting for us, fine granite blocks. The number of the problems is limited, but many of them are overhanging with a wealth of good holds, for a change. But take care: the top-outs have often less frictions as you may have experienced in the Oker valley. The white numbers indicate a boulder parcour.
So, if you are not looking for a whole day exercise and the hard grades, this is a place to be considered. In particular if you want to combine bouldering with a hike or a short mountain bike tour. Spare some time to visit the lynxes and the restaurant/café at the Rabenklippen nearby. The size of the cats and the pieces of cake are both quite impressive!
