Rätikon (Extrem)
Ostschweiz,
Ratikon needs no introduction. With the ascents of “New Age“, “Unendliche Geschichte“ (“Never Ending Story“), and “Silbergeier“ from 1988 to 1993, the famous Austrian climber Beat Kammerlander wrote sport climbing history. Kammerlander’s last great problem “WoGu“ – dedicated to the late Wolfgang Gullich, the climbing phenomenon of the previous generation – was finally solved by the young Czech climbing sensation Adam Ondra in 2008. Rated 8c, “WoGu“ is the most difficult climb in the Ratikon. “Silbergeier“ belongs to this day, both technically and psychologically, at the top of the list of testpieces in the Alps. The first woman ascent of the route was in 2011 by Nina Caprez.
