Maraña

Castile-Leon, ES

Above the village of Maraña there is an impressive wall that has always captured the attention of climbers. Recently, with the help of some funding from the European program LEADER, there has been a lot of new routes created in this crag. The guide focuses on the five sectors with the most popular and largest number of routes, but there are plenty of other spaces too. The climbing styles are wide; from slabs, vertical routes, seemingly never-ending long routes and even boulder routes. The climbing area is not great but benefits from its close proximity to the La Parada hostel, which can be used as the perfect ‘base camp’ to move around and enjoy all the amenities of the region.
