Treppenstein

Harz, DE

The sector Treppenstein encompasses all the blocks south of the Treppenstein ridge between the Harzchaussee and the Romker Weg. It is after the Feigenbaum sector the second largest in the valley. The first problems of Alex at the Titanic caused the quake that was followed by the "Boulder-Tsunami". Therefor a number of "modern classics" can be found in the sector. Since 2007 many blocks are exposed to the sun, as large parts of the sector were cleared from the dense coniferous forest. Unfortunately it came as I feared: most of the cleared area is now completely covered by almost impenetrable shrubs. Thus the usual access path to the blocks 17-22 cannot be used in summer, unless you bring a machete. However a new path is established along the northern edge of the remaining forest starting at the Titanic. But now for the interesting stuff: the boulder problems. If you were searching for the hard problems in the previous sectors, here they are! The Treppenstein sector and particularly the fantastic Titanic offer the highest density of the 7th grade problems up to 8a. But also the number of the hard 6th grade problems is high. If you want to complete the golden parcour you need quite some stamina.
