Dent de Ruth - Gastlosen (plaisir)

Bern, CH

Good route finding skills are key to success on the “Diehlkante”. Be sure to follow the old pitons. Orienteering skills and experience in alpine terrain is crucial. Despite these challenges, this route has evolved into mega popularity, most likely because it has such unique climbing. “Salut les Copains” is technically more difficult and offers varied climbing amidst lush alpine flora. Further to the left, the “Gemsstrasse” climbs over water runnel slabs to the intersecting ridge. Here as well, nature provides ample vegetation. Nevertheless, the route winds its way uniquely through and around the grassy sections and delivers a quality route for climbers out for a good time.
