The Farm on R62

Originally discovered by Hermie Venter, this great set of crags has loads of potential for single- and multi-pitch routes across a large grade spectrum. Owned by climbers, this is a very friendly venue that has some excellent sport routes, as well as some good trad climbing. Already one of the better venues for moderate grade climbing, with a little more development this venue could well become one of Montagu’s more popular climbing areas. The Farm Crag: An awesome prow with some of the best routes in these grades in Montagu. Black Slab Sector: A sector with a clutch of nice easy to moderate routes with lots of scope for more. Pump’kin Sector: One steep pumpy route and one long slabby route. God Child Sector: Beautiful, impressive golden wall with excellent routes. Awestruck Sunny Side: Good airy climbing. Awestruck Shady Side: The steeper back wall of Sunny Side with some good routes.
